As previously communicated, we are still offering free PPE to schools and colleges to cover the following circumstances only, namely: -

1. When caring for a child or individual who develops symptoms while attending their setting (and then only if a distance of two metres cannot be maintained)

   If you require PPE for caring for a child or individual who develops symptoms whilst attending your setting, please contact PPEEducation@norfolk.gov.uk to place your order.

   PLEASE NOTE that supplies are limited to just one delivery per school/college – so if you have already received a delivery you are not able to reorder.

   The maximum amounts you can order are based on school student populations:-

2. When performing aerosol generating procedures (AGPs).

   As a Local Authority and NHS Clinical Commissioning group (CCG) it is essential that we know about all the children and young people who receive Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGPS) in your setting including those needing:

   • Respiratory tract suctioning NOT including oral suctioning
   • Tracheostomy care including suctioning
   • Non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
   • Bi-level positive airway pressure ventilation (BiPAP)
   • Continuous positive airway pressure ventilation (CPAP)

   If there is a child or young person receiving AGPs in your setting it is essential, for the safety of your setting, that your staff performing the AGPs:

   • Are individually fit tested for the FFP3 mask that they require
   • Wear appropriate PPE
   • Adhere to the Infection, Prevention and Control procedures.

   Supplies are not limited for AGP PPE requirements.

   As communicated previously, Norfolk County Council can supply FREE PPE for AGPs and if you have not yet responded but do have pupils that require an AGP, or have any queries, please contact PPEShop@Norfolk.gov.uk

   PLEASE NOTE the requirement of fit testing of FFP3 masks to be used by staff for AGPs in their settings. If you need to arrange fit testing, please contact nwccg.fittesting@nhs.net

   Further information

   This is in accordance with the guidelines given in the "Safe working in education, Childcare and children's social care settings, including the use of PPE". In broad terms the DfE recommends keeping the use of PPE to an absolute minimum and only where a distance of 2m cannot be maintained.

   DELIVERY TIMESCALES

   Please note that the majority of the PPE (excluding specific FFP3 facemasks for AGPs) is in stock in our warehouse in Norwich.

   There is no cut off date.

   Schools can continue to purchase additional boxes of PPE from us. If you wish to purchase additional PPE please contact PPEShop@Norfolk.gov.uk.
