Walk-in clinics for vaccinations

We hope you are getting the opportunity to get a break over this Easter period.

We have been provided with some information from the walk-in vaccination clinics that may have affected some of your staff. These clinics are currently for priority groups 1-9 only.

We have been advised by the NHS Norfolk & Waveney CCG that there have been occasions, over this last week, where clinics have had to turn teachers away if they are not within these priority groups. We understand there may have been some confusion following some media coverage around the eligibility for these clinics. They have confirmed that they are only for the priority groups 1-9 for now, so school staff may be eligible if they fall into this criteria, eg if they are over 50, a carer or have some underlying medical conditions, if not, they will need to wait until the cohort they fall into is called for vaccine.

We appreciate this is not the information that you may have hoped for on this topic, however I know you will understand how difficult it is for the staff at the clinics where they have had to turn away teachers.
