End of year message to Education Leaders
Dear Colleagues
Just a short message from my teams and I to say a thank you and well done for the last year. It goes without saying that for most of us this will have been one of the most unusual and challenging years in our lives and our working careers. You made it and now you deserve a great break for the summer.
I know there are concerns across the country about the lifting of restrictions, and the impact on COVID cases, and we have all come to learn that 6 weeks is a long time, and much can change. We can only hope that people make sensible decisions as we continue to fight our way through this pandemic and manage the spread of the virus.
In the meantime, I wish you all a great summer. You deserve a holiday, and I hope you will be able to forget about work for a while. My senior team and I will be working across the summer, and so we will continue to provide phone cover for our urgent issues line. Please don't hesitate to use it if you need to contact one of us, out of hours or weekends, for any urgent situations that you wish to talk through. The usual numbers still apply for outbreak management and for critical incidents.
