Additional programme places can be booked by Local Authority Maintained schools at a cost of £250 per additional participant. Non-LA Maintained Schools are welcome to get in touch to explore the availability of places at a cost of £250. Assessment Training

The Assessment Team provides statutory assessment monitoring and moderation services to all LA Maintained Norfolk schools and on a traded basis to Multi Academy Trusts within and outside of Norfolk. We work in partnership with schools through a network of highly trained and quality assured school-based moderators. The complete training package includes:

  • Headteacher briefings in September and March, to outline statutory responsibilities for the year ahead
  • Statutory Assessment Network Packages to take teachers through all they need to know about the statutory teacher assessment frameworks for Reception, Year 2 and Year 6 and testing for Year 2 and Year 6
  • Early Years Assessment training consisting of Revised EYFS Teacher Forum, Making Starting Point Assessments, Embedding Assessment and Agreement Trialling events in the summer term
  • Discrete training for the Engagement Model will run again in the autumn term
  • Resources will be published on the Statutory Assessment pages of the Norfolk Schools website, to give clarity and support to school leaders.

Assessment training will mainly take the form of video training that can be completed at a time convenient to the delegates. There are follow up Q&A meetings that will enable delegates to ask any questions they may have and to take part in activities to put into practise some of the content of the training. The videos can be used to form a series of staff meetings, if schools would like to use them this way. All relevant and useful electronic documents associated with each training package will be sent to delegates in Padlet form, for delegates to access throughout the year. The Padlets will be updated with any relevant documents when they are published.
