School Financial Value Standard 2021-22 (SFVS)

The process of completion has changed with the following noticeable amendments:

Updated : Question 16 - Has requirement to ensure school has published on its website the number of employees whose gross salary exceeds £100K.

New : Question 26 - Are there adequate arrangements in place to manage related party transactions and has a complete list of related party transactions been appended to the checklist document?

See the checklist guidance for information to support the completion of related party transactions.

Updated : Removal of data dashboard information - This has been included within the benchmarking site and already populated (with 19-20 data); it is expected governors ensure they review this information and include as part of their response to Question 19.

Find your self assessment dashboard:

  1. Search for your school on the benchmarking site
  2. Click on the "start comparison"
  3. Click on "self assessment dashboard"

The Schools financial value standard (SFVS) and assurance statement website includes detailed guidance to support the completion of the statement; this can be found as part of the list of guidance documents hosted on the relevant page.

The Local Authority will require the return of both 1) the SFVS assurance statement and 2) the related party transactions record by 28 February 2022. The Local Authority will need to include in its annual return to the DfE the number and level of related party transactions across the maintained sector.

Schools which require any additional support or guidance completing this annual return can contact the EducationFinance team on finance.support@norfolk.gov.uk or telephone 01603 307758.
