Virtual Big Sing 2022 and Wood-Jam - Free music events Summer 2022

Following the success of our live streamed events over recent years we are expanding our current provision and reach to include 2 free events for your children and young people in the summer term 2022.

Virtual Big Sing (VBS2022)

We are delighted to welcome stars of stage and screen, led by Mark De-Lisser and featuring Vicky McClure and Our Dementia Choir (as seen on BBC One). We have again partnered with Viking Sound and Lighting and welcome new partners Hal Leonard, Gresham's School, Big Sky Creative and Make Music Day to bring an interactive, digital concert to every young person in the county.

We are inviting all children and young people from across the county to take part in our Make Music Day celebration:

VBS2022: Tuesday 21 June 2022, 1.45pm - 2.45pm.

All 8 participatory songs and signing resources will be available for you to access from Tuesday 4 May 2022, with a free trial license. This year's VBS2022 is suitable for students up to and including Year 7.

Woodjam

We are delighted to invite young people from across the county to join us in a very special opportunity to play alongside the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain either virtually or in person at:

Wood-Jam 2022 On Thursday 14 July 2022

  • 10.30am - 11.30am In person
  • 1.15pm - 2.15pm In person
  • 1.15pm - 2.15pm Virtually

In association with Viking Sound and Lighting, Gresham's School, Big Sky Creative and Charanga we are delighted to welcome Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain to this special Live & Interactive event. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a group of all-singing, all-strumming Ukulele players, which believes that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation, as long as they are played on the Ukulele.

Resources for the event are being provided in conjunction with The National Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and Charanga. These resources will be available from 4 May. Four participatory playing resources will be available for you to access from Tuesday 4 May 2022, with a free trial license.

More information and links to sign up are available in the attached letter from Alison Bell, Head of Norfolk Music Service.
