Long Covid Protocol
A joint union protocol called 'The Management of Long Covid' has come to Norfolk County Councils (NCC) attention that you may already be aware of.
The protocol is about the management of individuals with long Covid at the workplace and a temporary suspension of some elements of the sickness absence scheme for staff medically diagnosed with Long Covid.
The Protocol does not have any formal status at present and has not yet been agreed by employers. On recommendation of the National Local Government Association, NCC has not signed up to it and therefore normal sickness absence management policies should be followed when managing Long Covid in LA maintained schools.
Norfolk County Council will review its position if agreement is reached at a national level.
