Big Norfolk Holiday Fun is open for winter bookings

We're delighted to inform you that booking for our winter holiday activity scheme opened on Monday 21 November. Activities will run from Monday 19-30 December for children aged 5-16 (and 4-year-olds in reception classes) who are eligible for means-tested free school meals.

Parents will be able to use the Every Move website to search for and book activities for their child. There are hundreds of spaces available across Norfolk and some brilliant activities to choose from, we're encouraging parents to look as soon as possible to secure their first choices.

Promoting the scheme to eligible families - no HAF codes needed!

This year we've made it even easier for families eligible for means-tested free school meals to book on to activities. Instead of needing a HAF code to book, eligible parents just need to enter the name of their child's school during the booking process.

Please help promote Big Norfolk Holiday Fun to eligible families by:-

  • Sending the electronic Festive 'Big Norfolk Holiday Fun' flyer to all eligible families
  • Supporting the families who may struggle to make the booking themselves
  • Promoting the scheme in your weekly school newsletter using the information provided within the link below
  • Promoting the scheme on your Facebook page using the social media images and text provided
  • Supporting our Big Norfolk Holiday Fun activity providers. Activity providers local to your school may ask you to share additional materials. Please support them where possible

All the materials can be downloaded by clicking this link. Please select the 'promoter pack' option.

Families should visit Big Norfolk Holiday Fun - Active Norfolk to read more about the scheme or to view our FAQs.

Additional free places for vulnerable children and young people

Please remember that in addition to places for children eligible for means-tested free school meals, there are a small number of places available to vulnerable children and young people. This could include young carers and children with a social worker. Please identify those children at your school that will benefit most from the scheme. Please contact us at BNHF@norfolk.gov.uk with details of the children you'd like to put forward for a HAF-awarded place. As there is limited space, HAF-awarded places will be restricted and issued on a first come first served basis.

Thank you as always for helping us promote the message to families at your school. We really appreciate your help. If you have any questions, please contact your HAF coordinator by emailing BNHF@norfolk.gov.uk.

Kind Regards,
Tim Eyres
Assistant director and Commissioning and Partnerships
