Model policy for schools for the commissioning of unregulated alternative provision

The Education Quality Assurance Intervention and Regulation Service has produced a model policy for schools for the Commissioning of unregulated Alternative Provision.

The aim of the policy is to support all commissioners to ensure that pupils who spend part of their school week in unregulated settings are placed safely and effectively. It is often the most vulnerable pupils who access unregulated alternative provision, and it is essential that commissioning is carried out with all due diligence.

The templates previously available have also been updated and are included as appendices in the policy, so that all the information is in one place. There is little change to the content of the templates (so previous versions can still be used). The format of the documents has been changed to improve accessibility.

Individual templates can be downloaded from the website and adapted for school or setting use.

All documents can be accessed at Unregulated alternative provision templates - Schools (norfolk.gov.uk)
