The deadline to claim refugee grant funding for Ukrainian pupils on the Homes for Ukraine scheme is 31 May 2023 for most schools. We highly recommend that schools use funding to access EAL CPD.

If you welcomed refugee pupils into your school and they have been in school 3 terms or less, you are still able to claim refugee grant funding of £800.00 per term. The deadline for this term is 31 May 2023. The deadline for claims ending in the summer term is 31 August. Please remember to read the full guidance attached before submitting claim. The package includes: An audit of EAL provision, staff CPD (bespoke in-school or other), Subscription to Young Interpreter scheme, advice, and guidance re: admissions, EAL resources, policy, teaching strategies, funding etc
