Opening Schools Facilities Funding window now open
Funding is for extra physical activity provision, on the school site, for before school, after school, weekends or evenings. SEND group sessions can be during lunchtimes.
It can fund things like caretaking, equipment, delivery and staffing and can be used in conjunction with other funding streams and projects. It can also fund things that could help the facilities keep open to the community, booking systems, code entry gate systems etc.
This is also a multiyear fund which runs until March 2025 to enable schools to make their project sustainable longer term.
Schools are encouraged to be creative with their proposals in order to get those that aren't currently accessing their physical activity offer to engage in different opportunities to get moving more.
Particular considerations will be given to projects that;
- Include swimming or water-based activities (this can be offsite)
- Link to families and communities
- Have elements that consider how the facilities can keep open after the fund
- Support increased participation in other projects (eg HAF, School Games)
- Are from Secondary schools
The application window for projects running from September 23 until March 24 is now open and will close on 18 June 2023.
