New fully-funded programme of EAL and EDC support for schools
There are over 14,800 pupils with EAL in Norfolk schools. This represents 12.5% of all pupils, although in some schools up to 63% of pupils speak English as an additional language. Recently, Norfolk has also welcomed over 700 refugee and asylum seeker children into schools.
To help respond to this need, we are expanding our EAL/EDC team so we can provide a comprehensive universal and targeted offer of support, at no cost to your school!
Each session gives participants the opportunity to ask questions, seek advice and share successes from their own schools and settings. We regularly have guest speakers who will share their own expertise and experiences and we encourage schools to share good news stories and strategies/resources that have worked for them.
