Support for pupils with MHWB and SEL

One in six children aged five to 16 were identified as having a probable mental health problem in July 2021, a huge increase from one in nine in 2017. That's five children in every classroom NHS Digital (2021): 'Mental Health of Children and Young People in England 2021'.

The current evidence suggests that the prevalence of mental health problems in Norfolk and Waveney, is higher than the English average and is increasing.

The Flourishing in Norfolk report also highlights high levels of anxiety amongst children and young people.

To help respond to this need, we have developed a graduated offer of support so we can provide a comprehensive universal and targeted programme, that is simple for you to navigate and access.

Our flexible menu of options will ensure your school can engage in an effective way to suit your needs.

The new programme of support includes the following.
