Local First Inclusion - Developing a Norfolk Commitment to Inclusion: Your chance to have your say!

Within the Local First Inclusion Programme, there is a focus on developing mainstream inclusion, culture and practice. One aspect of this work is to promote a shared understanding of effective SEND support through developing a shared commitment to inclusion. Find out more about the Local First Inclusion programme here - Norfolk Schools LFI

We are inviting schools and settings to get involved in the creation of an ambitious shared commitment to what consistent, high quality and well supported SEN support and inclusive practice should look like across Norfolk. Your views will be used to develop shared principles which all schools, professionals and the local authority will commit to.

We have a multi-choice menu of flexible, ready to use resources for tutor time, school council, PSHE curriculum and intervention activities you may be planning this month around getting to know your new classes and new students. Or, as an activity that your school council or form groups could participate in and can be easily tailored to the needs of your school and your students.

Within the pack is a link to a short online survey to collect any feedback. Average completion time is less than 10 minutes, to help you make a big difference within a short space of time!

This feedback, alongside input from children and young people, families, professionals, and the existing evidence base, will be used to develop a set of agreed principles for Inclusion in Norfolk. These principles aim to create an education system that holds the highest aspirations for all children and young people and one that encourages and enables them to Flourish, whilst recognising success looks different for everyone.
