Updated and reissued Fire safety compliance code
Following review and feedback we have updated our Fire safety compliance code.
This code describes how we manage the risks associated with Fire in our premises, and, for example, how fire risk assessments and premises fire evacuation plans should be organised and carried out. The code has specific elements aimed at schools and these can be found in sections 1.2 and 1.4.
We have moved the Fire safety technical information into a new single document - Fire safety technical appendix G607 - to provide more detailed requirements and a point of reference.
As a result of the review, all associated forms have also been updated and simplified and there are some new forms: Monthly fire safety checks F607d and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) - checklist for managers C607.
Our Fire related training is also in the process of being updated to support the new compliance code and we will advise further once this has been completed and made available via Norfolk Services for Schools (S4S).
