Launch of Inclusion and SEND Thematic Toolkits

Several self-serve thematic toolkits have been developed across a range of Inclusion and SEND themes to support inclusive practice in our Norfolk schools. The focus of these toolkits include health (including mental health) needs, SEND, disadvantaged and minority groups, general inclusion themes and behaviours that challenge or risk harm.

Now available:

  • Vaping
  • Young Carers
  • Identifying needs and promoting positive behaviours
  • Anti-Bullying
  • Asthma
  • Reintegration following suspension - guide

Other topics to be covered include:

  • English as an Additional Language
  • Prejudice Based Incidents
  • Gypsy, Roma, Traveller
  • Eating Disorders
  • Self-esteem and body image
  • Internet Safety
  • LGBT+ Inclusion
  • Self-Regulation
  • Transitions
  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Managed Moves - guide
  • Oral Hygiene - guide

Each toolkit contains a whole school approach guide, alongside an audit tool and action plan, and a step-by-step guide to support responses to individual children and young people (CYP). These toolkits will help you provide targeted support to individual CYP, and/or develop a whole-school approach to inclusion and SEND using high-quality resources and evidence informed strategies.

You can easily access these toolkits from the Pupil Needs area of our Norfolk Schools website where new toolkits will be added regularly.

If you would like any further information about the toolkits or have a CYP at immediate risk of exclusion, please call our Inclusion helpline on 01603 307736 or email us on inclusionandsend@norfolk.gov.uk.
