Exciting Opportunity for Talented Bands to Play at OPEN, Norwich for Anti-Bullying Week (15 - 19 November 2010)
Link: bullying.pdf
Please can you pass the attached poster to your Year Heads and Music teachers to promote with young people your school who are in bands.
This is an opportunity to play to an audience of up to 200 young people on the Saturday 13 November (i.e. the Saturday before ABW begins) and to support Norfolk's Anti-Bullying Week.
The theme of the week is 'Taking Action Together' and is focused on the bystander. We want people to support others and thereby reduce the opportunities for bullying to occur. It would be great if young people from your school were able to participate or attend this event to show their support for anti-bullying. Please encourage young people in bands to enter. Songs with an anti-bullying slant will be welcomed. Already we know of at least five schools who have bands who will be entering.
We will send details of how young people can attend this event at OPEN shortly. If you need further information please contact smintey@googlemail.com who is co-ordinating the event at OPEN. Please note that resources for ABW will soon be available on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website (www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk) in the next two weeks. You will need to download these as they will not be sent to you directly this year.
