Norfolk High Schools' Choir Festival, Tuesday 12 October 2010, St. Andrew's Hall, Norwich, 7.30pm
Conductor: Mike Brewer OBE, Director of National Youth Choirs of Great Britain with Norfolk Symphonic Wind Band, Conductor: Andy Grand.
Adult tickets £5 (on the door only); Children, free.
About 350 pupils will be singing a varied programme, including spirituals and world music on the theme of light and freedom; choral arrangements of popular classics, ending with Handel's 'And the glory of the Lord' (an Edexcel GCSE set work). The Norfolk Symphonic Wind Band is a high-quality and relatively new ensemble comprising young players of Grade 6 standard and over.
This is a countywide festival with pupils from 18 Norfolk high schools. St Andrew's Hall is a large venue so we need a big audience to give these talented young people the recognition they deserve! Please support it if you can. Contact David O'Neale for further details: david.oneale@norfolk.gov.uk; 07899 076297.
