Norfolk Anti-bullying Week 2010 Survey
We would like to invite your school to take part in the fourth county-wide anti-bullying survey to investigate pupils' experiences of bullying in and out of school and to find out how effectively they feel their school deals with bullying. The survey is a free, on-line questionnaire devised by the Anti-bullying Alliance and modified by Norfolk County Council and is intended for all Norfolk pupils in years 5 - 10. It will be available for pupils to complete between 9 am 15th November to 5 pm 3rd December 2010.
The survey offers pupils an opportunity to contribute to a serious whole-school issue. Participating schools will receive their school's results, together with a county-wide comparison comprising the aggregated results for all other schools. The results will provide an invaluable insight into pupils' awareness of their school's anti-bullying policy and their views on the effectiveness of their school's practice. Information from the survey could be used to provide evidence of good practice to assess and review the effectiveness of the school's anti-bullying policy and for self-evaluation. Results from the previous survey have contributed to Norfolk's 2010 anti-bullying targets. Each year thousands of pupils participate.
We hope you will join with other Norfolk schools in completing the survey and if you wish to discuss any aspect of the survey please do not hesitate to contact Rita on 01603 307567 or at rita.adair@norfolk.gov.uk. Alternatively Heather Haycox, can be contacted on 01603 307566 and may be able to answer your queries (although she only works Monday and Tuesdays). We have attached an information sheet which provides further details including instructions on how to participate. This can be given to those staff carrying out the survey with pupils. A copy of the survey itself will be uploaded shortly on www.schools.norfolk.gov.uk/go/bullying and will be available for staff to look at and familiarise themselves with after half term.
