Norfolk Anti-Bullying January - March 2010 Survey Results
For schools which completed the Anti-Bullying Survey January - March 2010 - you can now access your school''s survey results by clicking on www.schools.norfolk.gov.uk. You will need to log on to the My school section, click on school performance and then click on Anti-Bullying Survey Results - Academic Year 2009/10 for full details of your results.
We hope you will find these results useful and if you were one of the schools who engaged in the 2008 survey you should have some useful data to compare with. We are planning to repeat the survey again during Anti-Bullying Week (15 - 19 November 2010) and up to 3 December. The survey will be repeated annually thereafter in Anti-Bullying Week so over the years you will not only be able to identify the key bullying issues for your school but pupils'' perceptions of the effectiveness of the school''s responses to bullying.
Thank you to those two schools who alerted us to the technical problems experienced by some pupils when completing this survey. The problems were caused because of an error in the computer language which is ''used behind the scenes'' to create the survey. The problem was rectified immediately but as we did not learn of the error until nearer the end of the survey, we need to inform you of the possible implications for your school''s data.
The program error means the answers to questions 9.3, 10.1 and 10.2 are unreliable for schools who participated in the survey before mid March 2010. If pupils responded ''no'' to questions 10.1 and 10.2 their data was not submitted. We recommend you treat any answers to these three responses with caution. All other data is unaffected. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing the extent of the impact of this error and can only offer our sincere apologies. However we still had over 3500 pupils participate in the survey which is an excellent response and higher than the number participating in Tellus4 last year. Overall results of the survey are available by clicking on www.schools.norfolk.gov.uk
Just to reassure you that the next survey will be conducted using Survey Monkey which we used previously in 2008 with no technical hitches so the errors described above are unlikely to happen again.
Please contact Rita (rita.adair@norfolk.gov.uk) or 01603 307567 if you wish to discuss this or anything relating to your school''s survey results further.
