Warning from Trading Standards - Scam Email Referencing British Gas
Norfolk County Council Trading Standards is warning schools not to reply to a scam email referencing British Gas offering the receiver a refund.
To receive the refund people are asked to fax personal information and copies of their passport or driving licence.
This appears to be a typical 'phishing' email attempting to gain personal information that could be used to steal your identity. Do not respond or send any personal information.
This email has not been sent by British Gas, more information from them can be found at www.britishgas.co.uk/emailalert
Trading Standards offers a free email Scam Alert service giving information on scams that are targeting businesses. To sign up visit www.norfolk.gov.uk/scams
