Norfolk County Youth Orchestra (NYCO) was established in 2006 to enhance the breadth and quality of musical opportunities for young people in Norfolk. NCYO is a full symphony orchestra, performing three concerts each year. The Orchestra currently has 75 young players aged from 12 to 21 - all talented musicians from Norfolk schools.

Critics have praised their 'thrilling, full sound' and high standard which 'belied their ages!' The concert on 21 April will be conducted by Nicholas Daniel, one of the UK's most distinguished oboe soloists and conductors. Nicholas Daniel is well known to Norfolk audiences for his work with the Britten Sinfonia, and this will be the second time he will conduct the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra, of which he is also a patron. Norfolk County Youth Orchestra is establishing an international reputation with a recent award from the European Union for a project with the Rhineland Pfalz Orchestra, Germany and the music conservatoire in Novi Sad, Serbia. Come along and hear them for yourself!
