School's Finance Training
In order to effectively manage and administer finance within schools, it is essential that Headteachers, Deputies, Business Managers, Finance Staff and Governors are well trained and keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date in line with fast-paced changes and developments.
To support this, we offer a wide range of training solutions split between three programmes:
Finance for Governors - A Basic Finance course for all Governors and 3 additional courses for the Chair of Governors and Finance Committee members.
Finance for Leadership - A total of 11 individual modules covering all aspects of finance from budgeting through to managing staff. Essential for Headteachers, Deputies and Business Managers.
Finance Administration - 12 practical courses covering how to effectively administer school finance and operate Star Accounts. Essential for School Business Managers and Finance Staff.

Not sure which courses you need to attend? Then why not test out your knowledge on one of our Skills Challenges? These are specifically designed for Governors, School Leaders and Finance Staff to enable you to check you have the right skills and knowledge for specific tasks within school finance.
E-Learning
If you are finding it hard to get the time away from the office, then E-Learning may be a way forward for you. We have developed five E-Learning courses, covering specific areas of finance, which can be accessed from any computer that has access to the Internet.
Online Booking System
All course dates for the rest of the financial year have been published and bookings can be made on the Schools Finance website. From the website, you can check availability, gain further course information and access the Skills Challenges. Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis so get your bookings in quick to avoid disappointment!

New Star Debtors Course! - We are please to announce the arrival of a new Star Debtors course! The course covers all you need to know about using Star Accounts to raise invoices and maintain lettings.
Year End Course - Spaces are disappearing fast for the very popular Year End courses. If you want to attend this year, then get your booking in quickly!
Governors Skills Challenge - A new Skills Challenge has been developed for Governors. It is focused on the responsibilities that Governors have for finance and relates to Norfolk systems and procedures. It is easy to use and can help Governors complete Question 1 of the Schools Financial Value Standard!
