Free Media Handling Seminar 7 December 2012
There are places available for a free media handling seminar for headteachers, members of staff or governors at schools signed up to receive the support of the Norfolk County Council's Communications team for 2012/13.
Two sessions will be held on Friday 7th December at Hethel Engineering Centre, with a morning session at 9am and an afternoon session at 2pm. Subject to sufficient demand there will be an additional evening session at 6.30pm.
The seminar is led by Chris Kelly, one of the country's leading media training specialists. Last year's seminar was very well received by those who attended. Each seminar lasts for about three and a half hours, including a break for refreshments. It aims to give you a full understanding of the modern 24-hour news media, and how to cope when your school becomes the focus for reporters and camera crews. At the end of the seminar you will receive a CD handout that can be referred to when needed (only available to those who attend).
To secure a place, please email john.birchall@norfolk.gov.uk as soon as possible, but no later than 16 November, with the title 'Media Skills Overview' and indicate all the sessions (morning, afternoon, evening) that you would be able to attend. Places for the sessions are allocated on a first come first served basis but if you have a preference then let us know.
Further details will be supplied after the application deadline of 16th November 2012. For any other enquiries regarding the seminars please call 01603 224222 or email john.birchall@norfolk.gov.uk.
