Emotional and mental health training and development plan - Workforce survey 2012-13

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Strategic Partnership has committed to providing a range of support, coaching and training opportunities for all staff in universal settings (staff working with children and young people in universal settings who are not mental health practitioners or specialists).

Before implementing the workforce development plan in 2010, we undertook some research to help identify the priorities. The findings clearly showed staff in universal settings would welcome the opportunity to:

  • attend training about emotional and mental health issues,

  • and would welcome more information on how and when they should refer to targeted and specialist mental health services and support.

This information informed the commissioning of a rolling programme of training, which includes providing training to support staff develop their:

  • knowledge and understanding of emotional and mental health issues

  • understanding of how and when they should access help

We are now at a point where we are reviewing the CAMHS training and development plan and we would like to hear your views and comments so that we can feed them into a refreshed plan. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and your comments will then be used to support us to commission future emotional and mental health training and development opportunities.

Please spare a few minutes to complete the attached survey www.surveymonkey.com by January 11th 2013.

We would like to hear the views of as many universal practitioners as possible, so please do forward this link on to anyone you feel would like to make a comment.
