The Jerusalem Trust - funding opportunities

The Jerusalem Trust currently has funds available in their 'Small Grants to Schools Scheme'. The Scheme supports the teaching of Christianity within Religious Education by providing schools with grants of up to £500 to purchase resources for use in RE lessons.
The Scheme is open to primary and secondary schools. Priority however will be given to state secondary schools without a religious affiliation. Only resources which focus solely on the Christian religion are eligible for grant funding. The scheme is not intended for use towards the purchase of resources for assemblies or other school activities such as visits, or facilitating specialist workshops or visitors.

Applications to the scheme can only be made for Religious Education (RE) resources on Christianity. These can include textbooks, teacher resources, artefacts, DVDs, and CD-Roms for use in RE lessons. Class sets of Bibles may be purchased under the terms of the scheme.

The Application form is very straightforward and funds are available now. Schools may apply online here:

If schools wish to explore the variety of resources that may be available to them should they be successful please advise them to visit the Religious Resources Centre on-line catalogue www.resourcescentreonline.co.uk or to speak to one of our staff: 0191 2704161 or 0191375 0586. If appropriate we may be able to order the resources the school selects on their behalf (with a schools discount!).
