Index for Inclusion - action research project

A 'schools improving schools' action research project is taking place in Norfolk during 2013-15. The project has been funded by Norfolk County Council, 18 schools have agreed to host a school improvement forum, inviting schools in their area to a half termly meeting, to discuss school improvement using the shared language of the index for inclusion. The 18 index forums, and 2 additional forums piloting improvement in the Early Years and FE, are taking part in the action research project documented by Professor Tony Booth, (author of the 3rd edition.) Children's Services have brokered this project and we are promoting the index forums, as an opportunity for schools to meet regularly to discuss improvement issues. The forums, will give every school in Norfolk a copy of the Index for Inclusion, along with a conversation about how to start using this whole school improvement tool.

The first index forum meetings will be taking place during the week beginning 11 February 2013. The index forums will be writing to their schools inviting them to the first meeting in the next few weeks. These dates will be published on our website: www.schools.norfolk.gov.uk/indexforinclusion
