Pastoral Support Forum - Promoting Positive Relationships & Tackling Teenage Relationship Abuse
In recent years there has been a growing awareness of teenage relationship abuse. Studies indicate that at least 1 in 4 teenage girls have experienced abuse by their partners and 3 in 4 have experienced emotional abuse, whilst 6.2% of young men have experienced some kind of domestic abuse in the last year.
The government is clear that young people must also be equipped with an understanding of healthy relationships, consent, non-violence and gender equality, and to be able to easily access information, guidance and support when needed.
