Learning outcomes:

• Understand how PSHE can support the key judgements for Ofsted
• Provide information on the latest local and national guidance
• Provide support for planning and implementing a PSHE scheme of work
• Know how to create a safe and democratic learning environment that is well
  managed, where young people feel valued and respected by teachers and
  peers
• Explore a range of targeted teaching methods and classroom techniques that promote active participation and varied effective use of resources including the use of visitors and outside agencies
• Consider the issues surrounding confidentiality and child protection
• Identify appropriate and sensitive ways to monitor, evaluate and assess teaching and learning
• Gain an overview of young peoples sexual ill-health and sexual health needs
• Have an understanding of what community based services are available to young people and consider how the school can support pupils access to them
