Child Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) Launch

Norfolk's SARC, 'The Harbour Centre' has developed a new service to support children under the age of 13 who have been sexually abused which is available from today.

The service that will be delivered by a Child Advocate has been developed to support children, young people and their families with practical and emotional support throughout the Criminal Justice Process. Helping Children and their families to understand what has happened, prepare for the next steps and to arrange further support that the child or the wider family may benefit from.

Please try to raise the awareness of the service that is now available to children under 13, in addition to the existing service available for adults from the age of 13. Please note this service is a pilot and therefore at the present time referrals can only be made by Norfolk Constabulary, therefore if you would like to refer a child to this service, the referral will need to be completed by the Officer in the case, who will be able (if appropriate) to make this referral, if this has not already been done.
