Park and Ride service for Norfolk County Council staff (including those at non-academy schools)
As part of changes around staff use of Park and Ride (which included a new 15 min scheduled service to and from County Hall) we'd said all NCC staff would have to pay for the service as part of proposals more generally to help the service pay its way - but that this wouldn't happen until the introduction of a Smartcard - offering staff discounts.
The SmartCard introduction was originally planned for November, but technical issues out of our control have held this up, and we are pretty certain now that it will be introduced sometime in February.
In the meantime staff have benefitted from free use of Park and Ride, but the issue of the service needing to break even is still with us - so we are now letting you know that we will have to charge all staff using Park and Ride from Monday 3 February - whether or not the SmartCard is introduced.
We are working hard to try and make sure start of payment will co-incide with the launch of the Smartcard which will offer discounts - but until it does staff will need to pay £2 per day to use the service (a 40p discount on the current full price).
