New advice on teaching SRE in schools

The launch of 'SRE for the 21st Century: supplementary advice for schools' has shown that there is a strong consensus of support for better Sex and Relationships Education (SRE). The advice, published on 28 February, was supported by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, teaching unions and the Office of the Children's Commissioners.

To coincide with the launch of the advice The Sex Education Forum has opened a short survey for teachers of SRE. They would like to know what further support schools need, and to ensure that teachers have a voice in their future campaigning for better SRE.

Please complete the survey if you teach SRE in a school or college and circulate the survey monkey link (www.surveymonkey.com/s/XLBV68X) to any teachers of SRE that you know.

The Healthy Schools team in Norfolk offers training, advice and support on PSHE including SRE: for more information contact Josie Wells or Marian Fox.
