Effective EAL resources - what's out there? (secondary)

Due to the popularity of the EAL resources course (Primary), we are now able to offer a similar course for Secondary on 9 December.


As well as providing a FREE follow up session of whole school training and/or support with an EAL Adviser, this course will cover:



  • Resources for EAL beginners

  • English initial assessment materials

  • Useful websites pupils can access to improve their grammar and vocabulary

  • Excellent IPad/Tablet apps

  • Translation tools

  • Software which easily creates translated induction packs for parents

  • Simplified readers in GCSE set exam texts

  • Websites for teaching resources, EAL support

  • Training in supporting more advanced learners with their literacy and academic English

  • Subject specific resources

  • Bi-lingual resources (dictionaries, books etc.)

  • Information on entering pupils for first language GCSEs
