BBC Micro Bit - Free event

The BBC micro:bit is a small codeable device that will be given free to every year 7 in the UK in the spring term, and it aims to inspire a whole new generation of engineers and inventors. Designed in conjunction with 29 partners, this ambitious project includes a tiny computing device, a range of different programming languages and editors, and a wide set of diverse and exciting resources. Don't be deceived by its size, it packs an array of led lamps that can display scrolling messages, accelerometers & magnetometers, and Smart Bluetooth so it can talk to your smartphone. A great introduction to electronics, computing and the Internet of Things.

This talk focuses on what the micro:bit is and what it can be used for, and also looks at the broad range of resources and activities that IET Faraday are delivering around the micro:bit in 2016.
