Teach your students about finance - take on the Tenner Challenge
The Tenner Challenge is for young people aged 11-19 who want to get a taste of what it's like to be an entrepreneur. It gives them an opportunity to think of a new business idea and make it happen, using real money to take calculated risks in the business field, make a profit - and make a difference.
90% of teachers agree that the Tenner Challenge has increased young people's financial knowledge and understanding. 83% of students feel Tenner has provided them with an unique opportunity to learn and achieve new things.
Here's how it works:
1. Each young person registered is given £10 from the Tenner Bank.
2. They use this start-up capital to get their business off the ground, working alone or in a group.
3. Young people have four weeks to make as much profit as they can from their Tenner while also aiming to create a social impact.
4. Participants choose what to do with any profit they make: they could buy resources for school or donate their profit to charity.
Sign-up at www.tenner.org.uk by 22 February to be part of this year's main challenge and compete against thousands of students across the country. Alternatively, get in touch with them when your school is ready to take on the challenge.
