Certificate for Music Educators
The Certificate for Music Educators is a workplace based course delivered by the Norfolk Music Service and accredited by Trinity College of Music at a GNVQ level 4 (equivalent to the first year undergraduate) and as part of its support for music teachers in Norfolk the Norfolk Music Hub is subsidising ten places for the next course.
It is particularly aimed at colleagues teaching music in settings who maybe don't feel as confident as they would like to feel about teaching music and will enable them to develop their own professional skills and knowledge in their own timeframe. A maximum of 24 months is allowed for candidates to complete the course but it could be completed in less time.
We will be holding an CME information day at the City of Norwich School on the 24th September from 10.00-3.30pm and the dates of the course are as follows:

- 22nd October 2016

The full cost of the course will be ½1,000 however, thanks to funds allocated from the Norfolk Music Hub a number of subsidised places will be made available to participants who can demonstrate that children in Norfolk will directly benefit from the course input. Information of the subsidy will be available on the information day. Selection and enrolment on the course will follow an interview process.
Following acceptance onto the course you will be supported by a mentor who will guide you through the course. It encourages music educators to develop new skills, consolidate their understanding of the purposes of music education, and build upon their reflective practice, with the ultimate goal of enhancing their contribution to contribution to the musical learning of children and young people in Norfolk.
