Calling North Norfolk and West Norfolk Schools-FREE WWI Experience
The Forum Trust, Norwich is offering schools from North and West Norfolk the opportunity to book a free full day of active learning on the role of Norfolk men in the Battle of Gaza at The Forum from 24-27 April 2017. The activities form part of the project 'Norfolk in the First World War: Somme to Armistice' which has received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Many men from North and West Norfolk fought and lost their lives in the second battle of Gaza and the learning activities will enable students to learn more about the Norfolk Regiment's involvement in this little known battle. There will be a chance to visit the Battle of Gaza exhibition and learn who the Norfolk Territorials were, a hands on session focusing on the hostile conditions the soldiers coped with in Palestine, an innovative drama session and an art activity inspired by souvenirs brought home. Please see the flyer and booking form attached for further details on the sessions.
Sessions can be adapted for KS1-KS3, with a maximum of 60 students.
For more information and to book a place please email Sarah Power, The Forum's Learning and Events Manager- sarah.power@theforumnorwich.co.uk. Bookings will close on Monday 27th March but please book early to secure a place.
