Post of Assistant Director Children's Services, Education
Copy of email sent to all schools:
Following the departure of the substantive Assistant Director, Gordon Boyd, Chris Snudden was appointed to lead the Education Services within Norfolk Children's Services, from August the 1st 2016. The post was for one year in the first instance whilst the national and regional landscape and the role of the Local Authority in relation to Education Services in Norfolk was reviewed.
It has become clear that there is a significant ongoing role for the Local Authority in many respects and I am delighted to confirm that following a formal expression of interest and interview process, Chris Snudden has been appointed as Assistant Director, Education on a permanent basis.
I know Chris will tackle the many challenges and opportunities facing her services with great energy, passion and acumen. She is driving a review of the current services that the Local Authority provides, and I know she is committed to ensuring that we provide high quality challenge, support and where necessary intervention.
Since arriving in Norfolk I have been impressed by the improvements in our local education system achieved in recent years, however I recognise there is still much more that we all need to do. I look forward to meeting some of you in the near future to explore how we work together to ensure that Norfolk children and young people continue to succeed as well as they might.
Best wishes
Matt Dunkley, CBE
Interim Director of Children's Services
