Children with cancer in school communities
Cancer can significantly disrupt a child's education, 90% of children said that their cancer diagnosis and treatment made a difference to school life. Just under half of parents of children with cancer felt that their child had not received sufficient support, and one in three parents reported their child had experienced teasing or bullying.
CLIC Sargent has developed a schools pack because we can do much better in supporting children with cancer, their families and their friends. Raising awareness and building knowledge by teaching children about cancer and how they can support their friend can really help. If you would like some further information and support (free to LA Schools and Academies, buying into Critical Incident Support), please contact bianca.finger-berry@norfolk.gov.uk.
