Free learning sessions on Marriott's Way
As you may already be aware, the HLF-funded Marriott's Way Heritage Trail Project is offering schools a range of free, curriculum-linked learning sessions across the Key Stages. With things now more established and warmer weather in sight, we would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in making a booking or finding out more about our offer. Sessions we have delivered so far have been very well received, and we are keen to keep expanding the project's reach and working with as many of the county's pupils as possible to offer meaningful outdoor learning experiences, according to the needs of schools. If yours is further than walking distance from Marriott's Way, travel bursaries are available.
As both a historic railway line and a County Wildlife Site, Marriott's Way offers an immersive environment for the study of many curriculum areas across the Key Stages. Sessions are rooted in the local landscape and its history, covering topics including the First and Second World Wars, natural observation and identification, the building and impact of railways in the Victorian period and beyond, and creativity in response to past and place. Whether you're interested in enhancing the study of science, geography, history, literacy or the arts, please see www.marriottsway.info/learning to find out more about what's on offer.
