Guidance for Schools on Assessing for Visual Stress/Meares Irlen

SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) have issued A guide for Assessors and SpLD Practitioners on Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and Visual Difficulties.

Virtual School Sensory Support and other lead practitioners in Norfolk have reviewed the guidance. Our advice is that assessments for Visual Stress/Meares Irlen should only be undertaken if the assessor is confident they comply with the SASC guidelines. We have produced a FactSheet (link here) to support schools.

Virtual School Sensory Support will be providing further training and advice on Visual Stress/Meares Irlen Assessments on the following dates at the PDC, Norwich;
