Travel grants for educational visits
The Sir Philip Reckitt Educational Trust
Sir Philip was a former Chairman of Reckitt and Sons Ltd who had a keen interest in educational development particularly for the benefit of his employees. The Trust is now administered by Trustees who have total discretion to allocate grants in accordance with the conditions set out in the Trust Deed.
The objective of the Trust is to assist with education in languages, business methods, social services and the customs of any other country or in any other educational matter, by any person for the time being resident in Norfolk, Hull or the former East Riding of Yorkshire. The Trust's assistance comes in the form of contributions towards the cost of travel, residence and attendance at conferences, lectures and educational courses.
Awards will only be made to applicants who are normally resident in the former East Riding of Yorkshire (including Hull) or the County of Norfolk. Due to financial constraints the Trustees are unable to make grants in respect of general maintenance and course costs other than where such costs relate to educational travel.
Applications must be made on the official forms. Applicants must clearly outline the nature of the project for which a grant is beingsought (if necessary applicants should attach a single sheet of A4 giving such further details as they consider appropriate). All applications must be supported by the Applicants school, college or university. Other Applicants need the support of their employeror a suitable referee with whom the Trustees can communicate. Awards will normally be made upon an individual basis and not to groups, exploration societies or expeditions.
