RIBA- free architecture programme for schools
Are you looking for creative ways to use architecture to bring subjects to life across the curriculum?
The Royal Institute of British Architects has limited places to offer on its exciting and free schools programme in Norwich and Norfolk this autumn term, through the popular Architecture Ambassadors programme. The programme pairs architects with schools, for creative, interactive and curriculum-linked workshops. The aim is to empower young people with the skills and confidence to play an active role in the shaping of their built environment.
Projects vary in length from a one-off half day workshop, to sessions once a week throughout half of a school term. It is up to the school and the Architecture Ambassadors to decide how many sessions to do, taking into account the Architecture Ambassadors are volunteering their time. The workshops can link to your preferred subject or theme for the term, ranging from Maths to Art & Design, Geography to Citizenship. We work with Year 1 up to Year 13.
This term RIBA are hoping to recruit 5 schools (primary or secondary) from Norwich and the surrounding parts of Norfolk. Please contact Fiona.macdonald@riba.org or visit www.architecture.com/ for more information.
