Cyber Choices national awareness programme

Cyber Choices is a national programme that aims to deter young people from becoming involved in cyber crime. See the Computer Misuse Act 1990 (CMA).

Offenders often follow an identified journey; starting with cheating or modding video games and then on to using booters, stressors and hacking tools against other users or systems.

Offenders are usually unaware that such activities are illegal. Cyber Choices aims to address this by raising awareness of the law and the consequences of offending through positive diversion. Seeking to embrace and divert the young person's skills and interests towards a host of resources where they can be practised ethically and legally.

The Online National Cyber Security Competition will run from January to February. It will be aimed at 11 - 14 and 15 - 17 age groups. More information about the competition to follow.
