Norwich Cathedral - Autumn 2020 Schools and Family Learning newsletter

Welcome back to the New School Year!

Please find enclosed the latest newsletter which comes with our very good wishes. 2020 has promised to be very different from the year we had all planned but we are looking forward to continuing to work with you over the coming months.

Free School Visits to see Dippy

Many of you had previously booked to bring your children to see Dippy during the Summer and Autumn and we are hoping that you have noted his delayed date of arrival! Dippy will be with us from 11 January to 21 March 2021 and we are sure many of you will still want to come and see him. All school groups must be booked in advance and details of how to do this are in the enclosed newsletter.

Keep an eye on our website www.cathedral.org.uk for full information and updates.

Autumn Term 2020

The Cathedral is cleared as 'Good to Go' and has many guidelines and procedures in place to keep our visitors safe. We would love to welcome school visits to the Cathedral after the Half Term break and will work with you to ensure that your visit is as safe as possible. In accordance with our Covid-19 procedures we are only able to accommodate one class per session. Most of our usual selection of programmes are on offer including Christmas Messages, Science, Pilgrimage, 'Be a Monk', Art and Bible stories, Edith Cavell, Florence Nightingale and Stories in Stained Glass! There is also a full range of KS3-5 programmes. Our brochures are available to download via our website www.cathedral.org.uk/visit/school-visits

In-School Sessions

We recognise that many of you may not be in a position to visit the Cathedral this term and so please remember that we also love coming to visit your schools to deliver sessions to support R.E., History, well-being and collective worship. I enclose a flyer for this year's Christmas Special 'Christmas Messages' which can be delivered either in school or here at the Cathedral.

Do get in touch if you would like support and ideas for delivery of Christianity and World Faith units in the new 2020 Norfolk Agreed Syllabus for R.E. or 'Understanding Christianity'. We have lots of resources!

With all good wishes
