Physical activity at school helps lessen the impact of lockdown

The social restrictions brought about by COVID-19 have had a significant impact on the lives of young people, who have experienced deteriorating mental health, social isolation, slowed educational development, and worsening physical health this year.

Physical activity is a tool that can help young people counteract these negative effects of lockdown. Things have changed for everyone, and making physical activity part of the school day can help overcome some of the ongoing challenges that pupils face.

Active Norfolk has developed free resources, including free e-learning modules and handy PDF reference guides, to help school staff and governors better understand and implement physical activity in their schools.
