EHCP Assessments by ECCH Children's Speech & Language Therapists (SaLTS) during lockdown

Some CYP currently undergoing EHCP assessment do not yet fall into the 'vulnerable CYP' category.

For some of these CYP face-to-face assessment is needed in order for therapists to complete their assessment and contribute EHCP advice.

It is not currently possible to carry out home visits.

It has therefore been agreed with commissioners that such CYP can be brought into school on a one-off basis for such an assessment to take place.

Covid assurance processes would need to be followed throughout any such visits i.e. in a separate room with space for social distancing and with a parent or support worker accompanying the CYP.
