Nurturing Wellbeing webinars

We're delighted to invite you to two further sessions to support wellbeing in your school. These new Nurturing Wellbeing webinars form part of the fully funded package of support designed to enable a whole school approach to addressing concerns related to mental health and emotional wellbeing:

  • Session One: Nurturing Wellbeing: A whole organisation approach to social and emotional learning
  • Session Two: Nurturing Wellbeing: Practical support for developing wellbeing for pupils and families.

Session One: Nurturing Wellbeing: A whole organisation approach to social and emotional learning

This webinar will help delegates to understand how social and emotional learning can support educational communities through the pandemic and beyond. It will provide attendees with:

  • An understanding of the trauma aware approach and equip them with practical ways to identify their next steps to support and improve their whole education community€s wellbeing
  • Tips for effective social and emotional learning
  • A provision map to support a whole-school approach to social and emotional learning
  • Links to a number of resources including the Anna Freud audit tool, action plan and model policy, all realistically achievable methods to adopt within a busy school environment
  • A narrated presentation CPD tool to share with colleagues to disseminate key messages
  • The opportunity to participate in activities with colleagues from the same phase.

This webinar is the first in a series of two. To maximise the benefit of attending this session it is recommended delegates also attend the next session in the series for your school's phase.

The second set of webinars are specific to school phases. Each webinar will support delegates by providing immediately transferable practical strategies to develop the five ways of wellbeing. Nationally and locally available advice and guidance will be shared including how to engage families, and delegates will be enabled to plan daily wellbeing sessions for their pupils as well as share key messages with their colleagues. Whether planning for in school or a remote context, by the end of the session delegates will:

  • Understand the importance of equipping pupils with the information that they need to make good decisions about their own health and wellbeing
  • Be able to provide clear, planned curriculum opportunities to promote resilience, support social and emotional learning and opportunities for pupils to participate in activities to build their confidence and self-esteem
  • Understand that we all have mental health but when issues arise pupils know to seek support as early as possible from appropriate sources.

Delegates will leave the webinar with a set of resources with which they can provide an effective wellbeing curriculum accessible both at home and in school including:

  • Complete and fully editable timetables for daily wellbeing sessions
  • Complete and editable resources for screen-free learning sessions
  • A resource bank of suggested sessions for use at home or in school to support wellbeing
  • A narrated PPT adaptation of the session to share with colleagues.
