The Big Ask! A survey for children and young people

Support your pupils to participate in the biggest ever survey of children and young people in England

The Children's Commissioner for England has launched The Big Ask! This is the largest ever survey of children and young people in England. It aims to give something back to young people after Covid-19.

The Big Ask is for children and young people aged 4-17 years in England. It aims to provide a chance for your pupils to have a say on the things that matter to them, what life is like, what they want in the future and anything that they think may be holding them back. The results will show the government what children and young people think and what they need to live happier lives.

The survey is split into age groups and there are easy read 'accessible' options as well as a version for care leavers, so your pupils can fill in a survey that is age and stage appropriate for them. There also are a range of resources to support schools to work with their pupils to complete the survey including assembly materials, PSHE lesson plans, debate resources and form session ideas.
