Education Triage Service on hold for Spring term only

A message from the Neurodevelopmental Service, Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust:

We have now been offering our Education Triage Scheme for around 8 months. We have really enjoyed working more closely with the SENCOS within many schools. We have found this to have a benefit to understanding a young person.

Given the fact we have now offered this for some time, we have decided that it would be helpful to review this process. To provide us with time to do this, we are placing the scheme on hold for the upcoming term, with plans to re-commence at the start of the summer term. We hope this will provide us an opportunity to explore what is working well and where improvements can be made to ensure this is as efficient as possible for all those concerned. We will be in touch to gather your views and will welcome your feedback on this partnership.

For the time being, referrals can still be made to the Neurodevelopmental Service via the GP. The forms you have been completing to assist with these referrals could be submitted as part of the referral as they provide really good insight into the child's presentation including their strengths and difficulties. This enhances the likelihood of the most appropriate decision for the young person.

Thank you for participating in this scheme to date and we look forward to continued joint working in April 2022.
